SHOUTcast

SHOUTcast is Nullsoft's popular and free distributed streaming audio system. Thousands of broadcasters, from around the world, stream music free of commercial pressures. Some are professionally programmed while others are home-grown. All showcase the freedom of expression inherent in the internet revolution.

Take a look some of the most popular stations (immediately listed to the right).

If you have a Squeezebox, you can select anyone of the thousands of SHOUTcast streams right from the display. SqueezeCenter includes settings that make the experience even more convenient. Using the Internet Radio settings, you can:

  • Control the number of radio streams presented on the display (default=300, maximum=2000).
  • Sort by the streams by genres or name (alphabetical, number of listners, and more).
  • Screen radio streams based on a minimum or maximum bitrate (0 for no limit).
  • Select the number of recently played streams the server will store.
  • Select the number of popular streams the server will display, as measured by the total of all listeners at all bitrates.

SHOUTcast plug-in is included in the current version of SqueezeCenter. Click here to download SqueezeCenter.
