Senior Software Engineer, Streaming Media Business Unit (SMBU) - Logitech®
The Streaming Media Business Unit at Logitech (formerly Slim Devices), is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer. This is an opportunity to combine your love of music with superior programming skills at work. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and collaborative player experienced working with a distributed team. This position will specifically be focused on the software for the award winning Squeezebox™ & Transporter® family of products. Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility/focus will be for coding, integrating and debugging cross-platform application software. - Other duties include:
- Analyze, design and implement software to support a new generation of company’s audio and digital music streaming media products.
- Responsible for design and implementation of cross-platform software (Embedded Linux, Windows, Mac) for media playback and user interface.
- Will work with other engineers in a team to validate proposed media interfaces; define and implement support for wireless specific interfaces and features.
- May provide leadership in areas of expertise to other engineers on the team, as well as be assigned to related specific projects.

- Can think out-of-the-box and drive creative ideas with regards to innovative software development in an open source/multi-platform software engineering environment.

- Willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years software development experience required, preferably in a consumer electronics, networking or digital music.
- Minimum of 5-7 years Cross-platform operating system experience required. (Linux, Mac OS X and Windows).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of streaming media and audio also required.
- Familiarity with commercial software development practices (version control, defect tracking, product schedules and deliverables).
- Ideal candidate has excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task, influence others or prioritize to meet deadlines with good judgment.
- Qualified candidates will be comfortable in team oriented collaborative work environments. Ability to work well in a virtual engineering team environment is a must.
